James Corden’s Donald: The Musical is as Good as Anything on Broadway

This is the only parody of President Donald Trump you need to watch today. Last night on The Late Late Show, host James Corden skewered the administration by rewriting the lyrics to “When I Grow Up” from Broadway’s Matilda, and performing it along with Tim Minchin (who wrote the actual lyrics for Matilda), Abigail Spencer, and Dear Evan Hansen‘s Ben Platt.

In the parody, Minchin played a kid version of Trump, alongside Platt as Press Secretary Sean Spicer, Spencer as Kellyanne Conway, and Corden as Steve Bannon. The song begins with Minchin singing, “When I grow up / I will be President and build big walls / Ban Muslims, play with Putin’s balls,” and continues from there in that same manner.
