Former White House Press Secretary Jay Carney admitted on CNN today that Democrats are “going to have a bad election day” any way you look at it, considering how well the Republicans are doing and how likely it is they will make some significant gains in both chambers of Congress.
Carney said, “No matter how you slice it Republicans are gonna pick up seats in the Senate and the House, and they may win control of the Senate.” Jake Tapper pointed out the very strong “anti-Obama sentiment” that exists among the public and its relation to the more prevalent anti-incumbent sentiment over the country.
And to Bill Kristol, this explains why in a year when Republicans are poised to do very well, GOP governors are not faring well in their reelection races against Democratic opponents.
