Jeffrey Toobin Reminds Us Ahead of Comey Hearing: Senators Are Really Bad ‘At Asking Questions’
Right before today’s highly anticipated Senate Intelligence hearing today featuring the testimony of fired FBI Director James Comey, CNN legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin wanted to remind viewers what to expect from today’s event.
“One thing I think people should keep an eye on is how bad senators are at asking questions,” Toobin noted. “And how much they like to talk rather than ask questions.”
He went on to expand on how those in the Senate just want to attract attention in these kinds of hearings and aren’t particularly interested in getting answers.
“Just keep a little clock in your mind of each senator, how much time they spent talking and how much time they actually listen to what Comey has to say,” he said.
Toobin continued, “It is disgraceful how bad these senators are at asking questions and that is a prediction I am confident in.”
You could say — It’s not normal!
