Jen Psaki: ‘We Don’t Really Know’ That Clinton Would Have Won Before Comey Letter

Hillary Clinton said rather bluntly last week that she almost certainly would have won the election if not for James Comey and WikiLeaks.

She cited Nate Silver to say that “if the election had been on October 27th, I’d be your president.”

Former Obama White House communications director Jen Psaki said on CNN’s State of the Union this morning that isn’t exactly clear:

“I do think if you look at her comments of what she said about how it would have been guaranteed she would have won in October 27th––we don’t really know that.”

“The perception of her,” Psaki added, “was baked into the cake for about 10 years.”

The CNN contributor said a few days ago that the Democratic party needs to accept that there were “other failings” besides Russia and Comey for Clinton’s loss, and today she said people should be looking at the people who voted for Obama and then voted for Trump.

Amanda Carpenter added that it’s irresponsible for a former Secretary of State should be playing up Russia’s role in interfering in the election so much, something she elaborated on later on Twitter:
