Fox News anchor Jenna Lee announced this afternoon that she is leaving the network after 10 years.
“I’ve decided it’s time for a change,” Lee said, “and I’ve chosen to leave Fox News.”
Today is her last day, and she took the opportunity to thank all of her coworkers and loyal viewers.
And Lee left with this tease for the future:
“I love being a journalist, and I believe it’s what I’m called to do. And I have some really big ideas on how to better serve you in that particular arena and the time is now for that. So I can’t wait to tell you more about it, so join me on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook… and let’s talk. Because it’s not over, it’s just beginning. Thank you.”
Sources familiar with Lee’s departure say the decision was amicable.
Lee separately said in a statement, “This was a difficult decision for me and I’m very grateful for the opportunities that the Fox News Channel and FOX Business Network have afforded me. It has truly been a privilege serving our viewers.”
Jay Wallace, President of News at Fox News Channel, has a statement out as well that says: “We are grateful for Jenna’s many contributions to FOX News Channel and FOX Business Network throughout her 10 years here. She is a talented journalist and we wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors.”
