Jerry Sandusky’s Adopted Son Tells Oprah: ‘At Bedtime, His Ritual Began’
Oprah Winfrey has scored another big exclusive interview for his Oprah Prime show on OWN. This time, it is Matthew Sandusky, adopted son of convicted child molester and former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky, who has decided to break his silence on Winfrey’s show.
The full interview will not air until next Thursday, July 17th, but OWN has released a promo for the episode, which features this haunting quote from the younger Sandusky: “At bedtime, his ritual began.” The short teaser does not give him time to elaborate on that statement, but the implication is that the “ritual” included ongoing sexual abuse from his adoptive father.
During the trial, Matthew Sandusky told police that Jerry Sandusky had started abusing him at age 10. Though he was not one of the 10 victims Sandusky was convicted of abusing, Matthew was one of 26 victims who received a financial settlement from Penn State University.
