Jesse Watters would be pretty pleased if President Donald Trump won a Nobel Peace Prize – because it would really piss off the left.
During a discussion of North Korea and international politics, the cohost of The Five said Wednesday that if Trump won the Nobel Peace Prize, it would be a boon to the right because it would give them the right to, in modern parlance, dab on the haters.
The comment was made after Juan Williams conjectured that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and other leaders across the globe feel that President Donald Trump and “the conservative media” are “so hungry for the Nobel Prize that … [if Kim says] cancel your joint military exercises, President [Donald] Trump will be under pressure to do it. We’ll see what happens.”
“No, we’re not hungry for the Peace Prize, Juan, we’re hungry for peace,” Watters replied. “It’s just, like, a nice trophy to shove in the left’s face because [Barack] Obama didn’t deserve his.”
“Obama’s Peace Prize was a participation prize,” he added.
Participation prize or no, President Obama certainly knew that the award he was about to receive was a medal, Jesse, not a trophy.
