Jesse Watters: Trump Got a ‘Huge Defeat’ on Spending Bill, ‘No Way to Spin It’

Some Trump supporters weren’t happy about President Trump signing that spending bill after his earlier veto threat, and Fox News’ Jesse Watters said it’s hard to spin it as anything other than “really bad” for Trump on a signature issue.

Commentators like Ann Coulter expressed disappointment, and Watters said on the immigration issue the bill was far from a victory for the President.

He went through the money appropriated for the border wall and said, “This was a huge defeat for the president on a signature issue. It’s really really bad. There’s no way to spin it.”

“I know he wanted more money for the military, and that’s incredibly important,” Watters continued, “but he sacrificed everything else to get it.”

He said Rand Paul was right about the “unholy alliance” between the two parties and noted how “Cryin’ Chuck Schumer gets all the money he wants for a tunnel… and there’s no border wall funding.”

And as for Trump saying he would never sign something like this again, Watters said, “I don’t see how he’s going to change the dynamic in Congress to never have this happen again.”
