Rep. Jim Jordan announced his bid to replace Rep. Paul Ryan as House Speaker on Thursday, per multiple reports.
The Ohio Republican sent a letter to colleagues announcing the run, NBC News reported:

“Should the American people entrust us with the majority again in the 116th Congress, I plan to run for Speaker of the House to bring real change to the House of Representatives,” he wrote in his letter, per Axios.
Jordan has long been rumored to be in the running to replace Ryan, but recent allegations that he ignored sexual abuse while a wrestling coach at Ohio State decades ago hobbled any plans for a clean announcement.
Meanwhile, Jordan just yesterday introduced impeachment articles against Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, a move backed by conservative Freedom Caucus members, but opposed by Ryan.
