Jimmy Fallon Coins ‘Feel the Chafe’ Slogan for Lincoln Chafee

Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon used his “Pros and Cons” segment to lampoon the first Democratic debate on CNN during Tuesday night’s episode.

When he wasn’t wasting time with announcer Steve Higgins, Fallon delivered a round of jokes covering all-too predictable subjects — Hillary Clinton‘s email scandal, Bernie Sanders‘ hair, who the hell the other three candidates standing on stage were. Yet the host managed to squeeze in a few good one-liners, especially when covering former president Bill Clinton and Democratic presidential candidate Lincoln Chafee.

That the Sanders campaign slogan, “Feel the Bern” can be misinterpreted to mean a slew of unflattering, unhygienic things has been a running joke since its inception. Fallon’s similar catchphrase for the largely unknown Chafee, “Feel the Chafe” follows suit.

As for the Tonight Show host’s stab at Bill, it was just as predictable as his jokes about emails and hair, yet still oddly satisfying.

“Bill Clinton is in Vegas keeping a close eye on the polls,” said Fallon. “And the dancers on them.”
