Jimmy Kimmel Has a Fool-Proof Plan to Save the Clippers From Sterling
As the only remaining network late night host to broadcast from Los Angeles, Jimmy Kimmel really relished everything about the Donald Sterling controversy during his monologue Monday night. After playing his favorite sections of Sterling’s racist rant, Kimmel made L.A. Clippers owner an offer he can probably refuse.
“Sterling insists he’s not a racist. He says some of his best credit cards are black,” Kimmel joked. Rather than the NAACP taking away his second lifetime achievement award, Kimmel said he thought Sterling should be forced to show up and accept it… with Paula Deen.
Kimmel was not quite sure that Sterling selling the team and making $500 million would be the best punishment, so he had a better solution. “I will buy the team from Donald Sterling for $5,000,” Kimmel said. “First of all, I love basketball. Secondly, I have $5,000. And thirdly, I happen to love black people.”
“I would be proud to take the reins of what once was, and what again will be, the worst, most miserable franchise in all of sports,” Kimmel declared.
