Joe Biden Says He Hopes Democrats Don’t Impeach Trump if They Take Back the House

During an interview with CBS This Morning co-host Norah O’Donnell, former Vice President Joe Biden said he hopes that if the Democrats take control of House post-midterms that they don’t impeach President Donald Trump.

When asked about Democrats impeaching Trump, he said this: “I hope they don’t. I don’t think there’s a basis for doing that right now.”

He added that he thought Democrats should wait until Special Counsel Robert Mueller completes his investigation and instead focus on other pressing issues.

“I think we should focus on all the terrible things that are happening now in terms of interest of the middle-class people and working class people,” Biden stressed. “There are so many things to attend to immediately. Let’s see where the investigation takes us.”

Biden’s comments come after recent reporting that Democrats have outlined a list of key investigations they plan to launch if they take back the House from Trump’s taxes, ties to Russia and the administration’s handling of security clearances.
