Joe Scarborough Mocks Beto O’Rourke’s ‘Mid-Life Crisis’ With Brutal Impression: ‘I Was Elevating My Wife!’

MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough launched into a mocking impression of Beto O’Rourke on Monday over how the Democratic presidential candidate has fielded the commotion over some of his recent remarks.

The conversation began when Morning Joe reviewed O’Rourke’s recent comments about white privilege and his apology for joking that he “sometimes” helps raise his kids. Scarborough thought it was absurd for O’Rourke to apologize for his self-deprecating remarks just because “a couple of blue checkmarks tell him that’s a terrible thing.”

From there, Scarborough went fully-sarcastic in an impression of O’Rourke:

“This made me a better man to know that I can’t use self-deprecating humor in the future, I’m going to go on a trip to Kansas and write some posts on medium about how this is a mid-life crisis for me because I use self-deprecating humor and there were people out there who were just too stupid to figure out it was self-deprecating humor where I was elevating my wife.”

Scarborough continued by pummeling those who’ve made snarky comments about O’Rourke’s wife not being more vocal so far about her husband’s presidential run. He also got passionate by saying O’Rourke cannot apologize for every criticism that comes his way, especially since he’s running against President Donald Trump, who almost never apologizes for anything.

“Do not apologize every time a blue checkmark says something mean about you, because I guarantee you the guy that you want to run against is a white supremacist and he doesn’t apologize for that, so you don’t have to apologize for putting out a self-deprecating joke.”
