Jon Stewart Can’t Stop Watching NY Pols in Amazing Fight over Yogurt

You would think yogurt would be fairly non-controversial. WRONG. A New York state senator tried to push a fairly non-threatening bill to make yogurt the official state snack after the idea was brought to him by a fourth-grade class, and what ensued was a debate that made Jon Stewart stare in utter amazement.

One Democrat kept complaining about the definition of a snack and why it’s yogurt and not chips or raisins or pretzels. And what really impressed Stewart was how the Republican who proposed the bill was able to answer every single concern everyone had about yogurt, calling him “the Ken Jennings of yogurt!”

The bill eventually passed, but Stewart had to explain something important to the New York legislature about what the state snack is: “The good people of New York do not give a fuck.”
