Journalist Who First Spotted Melania Plagiarism Speaks Out: No, I’m Not on Clinton Payroll

jarrett hillJournalist Jarrett Hill is single-handedly responsible for uncovering the big news story of the day––Melania Trump‘s speech plagiarizing a portion of Michelle Obama‘s––and he spoke out about it on CNN earlier

Brooke Baldwin started by asking him to respond to the allegation from Team Trump that somehow this controversy began with Team Clinton.

Hill said, “I wish I was on someone’s payroll at the Clinton campaign, but unfortunately that is not the case.”

He noted he’s gotten a lot of messages accusing him of being a plant, explaining that as Melania Trump spoke last night, “the word ‘willingness’ started coming out of my mouth” and he found that strange, so he looked into why.

Hill also responded to the full-scale defense from the Trump campaign by saying their excuses wouldn’t exactly fly for a student who plagiarized a paragraph for a paper.
