Journalist Yashar Ali on Lawsuit from Eric Bolling: Trying to ‘Intimidate Me’ Won’t Work

Yashar Ali, the journalist being sued by Eric Bolling, spoke to CNN’s Brian Stelter this morning about how he won’t be “intimidated” by the lawsuit.

To recap: Ali recently reported on allegations that Bolling sent lewd texts to colleagues. His report cites 14 sources and he spoke directly to people on the receiving end of those messages.

Bolling was suspended from Fox News, and now he’s suing Ali for defamation. Ali’s lawyers responded in a letter blasting the “frivolous” lawsuit.

Ali told Stelter this morning, “He is trying to intimidate me. He sees me as a young reporter that may be scared by big lawsuits, but if he wants to wade into this pond, I’m happy to go in with him.”

He said he “relish[es] the opportunity to see him deposed” and to stand up for the First Amendment, not just for himself but for the press at large.
