Joy Behar Calls Out Abby Huntsman For Claiming Media is Smearing Kavanaugh as a Gang Rapist
The View co-hosts butted heads today after former Fox News host Abby Huntsman accused media outlets of referring to Supreme Court justice nominee Brett Kavanaugh as a “gang rapist” — a claim for which Joy Behar demanded verification.
“Isn’t it awfully unfair though to come out and call Kavanaugh a gang rapist and monster and evil person — he’s been called every name in the book,” Huntsman said, as the group discussed President Donald Trump mocking Kavanaugh’s accuser Christine Blasey Ford at a rally last night.
“Legitimate outlets?” Questioned Behar, to which Huntsman pointed to “a democratic senator [who] called him evil or a monster or one of those.”
That senator was New Jersey Democrat Cory Booker, who advised his Senate colleagues to not be “complicit in the evil” when voting in Kavanaugh’s confirmation.
“He didn’t call him a rapist,” Behar added.
“I think he’s been called a gang rapist,” Huntsman replied. “I just heard it on the television — I hear it all over the place.”
Behar then asked Huntsman to direct her claims to a specific media company, as “you need to source that if that’s going to be an accusation against a real outlet.”
Huntsman then diverted to knocking “both sides” for their reaction to the Kavanaugh allegations.
“This is not about both sides. This is about women and all this stuff that we have been dealing with,” Whoopi Goldberg fired back. “You’re talking about, you know, whether it’s your choice or my choice, whether it’s sexual assault, if, in fact, we are saying — we spent years saying, listen, we want to make sure we’re putting somebody away it’s the right person that’s why we’ve been encouraging women to come out.”
