Joy Behar: GOP Fought Obama for 8 Years, So ‘Why Do I Have to Be Nice’ About Trump?

On The View today, Joy Behar practically rolled her eyes at the idea that now’s the time to get behind President-elect Donald Trump for the sake of unity after all the things he’s said in the past year.

The hosts were talking about whether any liberal celebrities would perform at Trump’s inauguration. Jedediah Bila said they should, sending a signal to the country that we need to come together and maybe give Trump benefit of the doubt.

Behar recalled everything Trump said during the campaign and said she certainly wouldn’t do it, telling the others, “I do not forget what he said when he was campaigning! He insulted every group!”

Bila pointed to how people refused to accept Obama as their president in 2008, but Behar argued she can’t compare Trump to Obama.

Besides, she added, “they obstructed him for 8 years, so why do I have to be so nice?”
