The View co-host Joy Behar spent a good chunk of her time on Thursday night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live joking about her former and current ABC colleagues, as well as Republican presidential candidates Donald Trump and Mike Huckabee. In fact, according to Behar, the 2016 election cycle was one of the main reasons she came back to the morning show.
Late night host Jimmy Kimmel practically begged Behar to dish on her time off and on The View, like Star Jones. However, she was quick to refuse Kimmel’s open invitation.
“Don’t ask me to trash these b*tches that I’m working with now!” she said. “Wait till I’m done with this show.”
When Kimmel pressed her on her return to The View this summer, Behar immediately launched into a discussion of the current political climate in the United States. (You know, because of that 2016 presidential election that started awhile back.)
“I came back because of the politics. This is a political year and I wanted to be right in the middle of everything,” she said. “Look who’s running!”
As if on cue, Behar’s not-so-veiled allusion immediately induced a line from Kimmel about Donald Trump’s recent cancellation. As well as a joke about Melania Trump, the New York real estate mogul’s current wife, whom Behar worries could be kicked out of the country if her husband’s proposed immigration policy gains traction.
“I worry about his wife because she must be like, ‘Donald don’t send me back to Slovenia, please!'”
She also took issue with Mike Huckabee’s comment back in January that women who swear are “trashy,” saying: “What the f*ck is his problem?”
