After recently ending her program on HLN, Joy Behar is slated to pick up a time slot on Current TV. Although rumors of the story began to circulate yesterday, New York Times‘ Brian Stelter confirmed the news today.
The story originated on Paula Froelich‘s Tumblr, where she wrote yesterday:
Word on the Media Street is that Joy Behar is getting her own show on Al Gore’s Current TV. It’s going to be announced as soon as tomorrow. She left HLN last year (with decent ratings) after she was told by execs to do all crime all the time – and didn’t feel as if she could do the show she wanted.
Stelter confirmed this morning on his Twitter account:
As Stelter notes, there is no word yet on what her timeslot will be or how similar the new program will be to her previous show on HLN, but one imagines that the official announcement will have much more information for us to chew on.
