Joy Reid Slams ‘Clinton Investigation Mania’ in the GOP: ‘Feeding’ Trump’s Needs

MSNBC’s Joy Reid and her panel this morning went off on the “Clinton investigation mania” in the GOP right now, particularly given President Trump‘s recent tweets calling for such investigations.

And just yesterday, top Republican senators recommended a criminal investigation into Christopher Steele, the author of the infamous dossier.

Former Breitbart spokesman Kurt Bardella said there’s a “slippery and dangerous” slope here where a President can just order a criminal investigation into a political adversary.

Reid clashed with Jen Kerns, who argued that there was serious political bias at the FBI and DOJ and Clinton “may have been given a pass.” Reid shot back by pointing to the infamous October Comey letter and they went back and forth on that initial public statement of his.

Reid asked former DOJ spokesman Matthew Miller if the FBI is some “hotbed of liberalism, of anti-Republicanism.” He said no.

In the next segment, Reid said the focus on Clinton is certainly “very satisfying” to the Fox News and Breitbart audiences, and she wondered if the “fog” is working.

Bardella said Clinton is a great unifier for the Republican party, and all this is a “deflection away” from the Trump-related news going on.

Reid brought up Trump’s tweets and said these efforts are clearly about trying to “satisfy” the President and “feeding” his need.
