Kellyanne Conway Gets Secret Service Protection, Says ‘White Substances’ Were Sent to Her House
Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway told Fox News last night that she has her own Secret Service detail because of how she keeps receiving suspicious packages at her house.
During a discussion with Sean Hannity about whether the media should be granted access to the White House, Conway talked about her relationship with the press as a frequent Trump surrogate. Conway eventually said that she has her own security detail now, which she attributed to vitriol generated by negative coverage about her media engagements.
“Because of what the press is doing now to me, I have Secret Service protection,” Conway said. “We have packages delivered to my house with white substances. That is a shame.”
One example of negative coverage that Conway cited was a false story last week about how Trump removed a bust of Martin Luther King, Jr. when he took the Oval Office.
“I hold him to account for it,” Conway said, referring to the story’s writer. While she acknowledged the reporter has apologized and corrected his story, Conway commented that the damage was done when the story went out, even though “the darn bust was right there.”
The bust story has been a source of frustration for the Trump Administration, which Press Secretary Sean Spicer made a point about in an recent explosive statement he gave to the media this weekend.
