Kennedy Slams Fox News Co-Host For Bringing Up Birtherism During Segment on ‘Left-Wing Rhetoric’

During a segment on The Five about “left wing rhetoric,” Fox Business’ Kennedy slammed co-host Marie Harf for comparing birtherism to extreme rhetoric used against President Donald Trump.

As Kennedy ramped up the outrage machine over comments made by Democratic Rep. Hank Johnsonhe compared Trump to Adolf Hitler — Harf protested that insane rhetoric comes from both sides of the aisle.

She pointed to the current president’s racist conspiracy theory, pushed for years, that his predecessor Barack Obama was born in Kenya.

Kennedy was outraged by the comparison: “Are you really comparing birtherism to calling someone Hitler?” she exclaimed. “Is that a direct comparison?! Because that’s pretty weak from you Marie. You’re smarter than that, you’re better than that.”

“I’m not making a direct comparison, but I’m saying there were terrible, awful, racist, sexist things said about Michelle Obama, about Barack Obama,” Harf replied.

“Not by sitting members of Congress,” Jesse Watters said.

“Oh really?! Really?” Harf reacted. “Do you want me to find some of the things that Joe Wilson said? Have you heard things that Steve King said in Iowa? They are really racist and awful!”
