Kerry Defends Obama Brussels Response: The President’s Schedule ‘Is Not Set by Terrorists’

Secretary of State John Kerry talked about Brussels and terrorism on Face the Nation this morning, and John Dickerson confronted him about President Obama‘s actions in the wake of Brussels.

The day of the terrorist attacks, the president attended a baseball game in Cuba and even talked about Brussels during the game. The next day he danced the tango, and his critics had a field day.

Kerry said today, “The President of the United States’ schedule is not set by terrorists.”

He insisted that Obama intended to continue engaging diplomatically with Cuba during his pre-planned trip because “life doesn’t stop because one terrible incident takes place.”
