House majority leader Kevin McCarthy took some time out of his busy schedule avoiding constituents to stop by his local news station and deliver a weather report.
The Republican lawmaker joined Aaron Perlman on Eyewitness News Tuesday morning, during the House recess, and the two bantered about humidity.
McCarthy then delivered a weather report on his home state California, and the congressman discussed local ice cream shop Dewar’s with Perlman.
McCarthy made sure to advise constituents to “stay out of the river,” due to rising waters.
“Sometimes you live in D.C., sometimes you live in Kern County, and you still know what’s happening in your own area. That’s a good congressman,” Perlman said.
“I’m always checking the weather!” McCarthy replied.
