Kier Simmons: North Korean Officials Watch Morning Joe

NBC News correspondent Kier Simmons appeared on Morning Joe Thursday to make a surprising revelation on the MSNBC show’s audience in the hermit kingdom.

Reporting from the North-South Korean border, Simmons first said he had spoked to a lieutenant colonel about Pyongyang’s assessment of the U.S.

“He quite plainly said he believes President Trump is mentally ill,” Simmons told Morning Joe. “And he was unequivocal in saying he believes North Korea could win a war with America.”

“Be it no doubt that the senior officials here pay attention to what is being said in the U.S.,” Simmons continued. “One telling me that he watches Morning Joe every day specifically for the segments about North Korea.”

Morning Joe has dedicated much of its Thursday morning coverage to escalating tensions between the U.S. and North Korea, with hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski fretting over a new poll out showing most Americans fear coming war.
