Kimmel Rips ‘Liar’ Trump Over ‘Wouldn’t’ Clarification: It Was a ‘Tiny Little Slip-Up, Even Smaller Than His Fists’
On Tuesday night, Jimmy Kimmel blasted President Donald Trump for his “clarification ceremony” that backpedaled remarks made at Monday’s press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Kimmel began by calling Trump a “liar” for trying to walk back “what the Helsinki was going through his cotton candy-colored head” when he “took sides with Russia” over the US intel agencies about the meddling in the 2016 election.
“Now he’s saying it’s a tiny little slip-up, even smaller than his fists,” Kimmel told his audience.
The late night talk show host wanted to know “which genius” on Trump’s team came up with the idea of Trump clarifying that he meant to say “wouldn’t” instead of “would,” which completely reverses his rhetoric that suggested he believed Putin when he denied that his country was responsible for the election meddling. His guess was First Lady Melania Trump since “she hates him the most.”
He then reacted to the moment when the lights went dark at the White House.
“Have you ever seen the lights go out on a president before?” Kimmel asked. “If that wasn’t the work of God or Robert Mueller, I don’t know what is.”
Kimmel mocked the president for “spreading the blame around” by saying that others may have interfered with the election besides Russia and for having to write that “There was NO COLLUSION” on his notes.
“I would rather we have a chimpanzee as president of the United States,” Kimmel said. “At least with a chimp, there’d be someone to eat the bugs out of Rudy Giuliani‘s hair.”
