Krauthammer: Hillary Clinton Will Be ‘Relatively Weak’ 2016 Candidate
On a slow post-Christmas news day on Fox News Thursday evening , Charles Krauthammer did some 2016 prognosticating, making a bold prediction about Hillary Clinton: If she decides to run she will be a “relatively weak opponent for Republicans.
Asked whether he thinks the Benghazi, Libya attack will play a factor in the 2016 Democratic primary, Krauthammer said definitively that “it won’t even be an issue.”
“I think the status she enjoys among Democrats is semi-divine,” he continued. “It’s not going to be a coronation. It’s going to be a worship service.” But, he added, things could change during the general election.
“I think she is going to be rather weak if she decides to run, which I think she likely is,” Krauthammer said. “She will be a relatively weak opponent. And Republicans, I think, are going to have a really good shot at the White House.”
The latest premature poll from CNN find Clinton neck and neck with New Jersey Governor Chris Christie in a hypothetical 2016 match-up. The former Secretary of State leads most other potential opponents by double-digits.
