Krauthammer: It’s ‘Infinitely Safer’ for Trump to Keep Bannon in White House

Tonight on Fox News’ Special Report, Charles Krauthammer pointed out the potential consequences of Steve Bannon being ousted from the White House, if it ever comes to that.

Both yesterday and today, President Trump downplayed Bannon’s role in the campaign and in the White House amid reports of infighting and Bannon’s influence being reduced.

Bret Baier wondered if it’s better for Bannon to remain in the White House or have him outside the tent “hammering from the right” on everything Trump promised.

Krauthammer said it’s likely Bannon stays on because it’s “infinitely safer to keep him inside the tent.”:

“He’s not an enemy, but he could be a potential one if he gets kicked out, particularly in a humiliating way, particularly if it’s portrayed in the press as a clash between sort of a newcomer, Jared Kushner.”

Krauthammer noted that it certainly seems like “Bannonism is in decline” in the White House, given how the recent foreign policy steps of the Trump administration are at odds with what the president spoke about in his inaugural address.
