One of the consequences of last winter’s Duck Dynasty controversy was a slew of Louisiana and Oklahoma politicians rushing to be at the stars’ sides — remember the fight over who was taking Willie Robertson to the State of the Union?
Now Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, a mused-over contender for the 2016 GOP presidential nomination, is appearing on the premiere of Duck Dynasty’s sixth season, set to air June 11.
Jindal had traveled to “Duck Commander headquarters” recently to present the family with the just-invented Governor’s Award for Entrepreneurial Excellence. While there, producers shimmied him into the first episode.
“It was really neat to have the governor on our show,” Robertson said. “His family loves watching the show, and they all came up to West Monroe to participate. He did a great job and is used to cameras being around, so he was natural. And playing yourself always helps.”
