Larry Wilmore Is Not Impressed with Starbucks’ #RaceTogether Campaign

Even though the theme of his show Wednesday night was “money-loving preachers,” Larry Wilmore couldn’t help but spend a few minutes up top talking about Starbucks’ new #RaceTogether campaign.

“Hold on, Starbucks, you’re talking about race? That’s what we do on The Nightly Show,” he said. If they were going to encroach on his territory, then he was going to step on theirs — by making his own coffee with a Keurig machine. “Looks like somebody’s going to have to explain race and profit losses to their shareholders.”

“And do we really expect some poor barista to handle a conversation on racial politics? That’s a lot of pressure,” he added. “Who are they going to get, Cornel West?”
