Laura Ingraham Challenges Trump on Calling The Media ‘The Enemy’: ‘How Does It Help America Heal?’
On Monday night, Laura Ingraham sat down with President Donald Trump for a wide-ranging interview and confronted him about his repeated attacks against the media.
Just days after CNN faced a bomb threat by a Trump supporter, the president took to Twitter and renewed his attacks.
There is great anger in our Country caused in part by inaccurate, and even fraudulent, reporting of the news. The Fake News Media, the true Enemy of the People, must stop the open & obvious hostility & report the news accurately & fairly. That will do much to put out the flame…

“The phrase ‘enemy of the people’ — another phrase that’s been seized upon by many in the media,” Ingraham said to the president. “Many at CNN, but not just CNN. There was a woman who was on CNN a short while ago saying that you have radicalized more people than ISIS.”
“Well, that’s must be some kind of a sick woman,” Trump reacted. “When I say ‘the enemy of the people’ I’m talking about the fake news and you know it better than anybody. You have news out there that is so fake and I can do the greatest thing ever…”
“But you know they’re going to be biased, Ingraham pressed the president. “How does that help expand your base, to call them ‘the enemy of the people?’ How does it help America heal from things like this?”
“That’s a very good question, very fair,” Trump responded.
The president defended his attacks, saying that his tweets are his “form of telling the truth” and that his supporters “know that they’re lying.”
