Laura Ingraham Mocks ‘Pope Pete’ Buttigieg After Dem Candidate’s Swipe During Town Hall

Fox News host Laura Ingraham did not let Democratic candidate Pete Buttigieg‘s swipe at her go unnoticed.

During the Town Hall which aired on Sunday, Buttigieg said this about Fox News’ opinion hosts while on Fox News:

“I get where that’s coming from especially when you see what goes on with some opinion hosts on this network. I mean when you’ve got Tucker Carlson saying that immigrants make America dirty. When you’ve got Laura Ingraham comparing detention centers with children in cages to summer camps.”

He also suggested voices of Fox like Ingraham were not acting in good faith.

Ingraham hit back at the top of her show Monday night by mocking “Pope Pete” and dubbing him an extremist.

“Beyond his Boy Scout demeanor and Mayor Pete shtick, Buttigieg is but another creation of a media apparatus desperate to oust Trump,” Ingraham said. “And as I’m sure you saw again and again and on the other networks, he showed this unattractive strain last night. But it is hard to patronize and condescend your way to win the nomination. You can’t do it. You have to treat the people like they deserve to be treated.”

Then taking direct aim at Buttigieg’s town hall remarks, she continued on: “Forget Mayor Pete, maybe we should call him Pope Pete. Don’t you love how because Pete attends church, we are to treat him like the be-all and end-all moral authority, the arbiter or of who is and who is not operating in good faith.”

“So he finds conservative media objectionable, but the third-trimester abortion? They are perfectly moral,” the Fox News host said before playing a clip of Buttigieg saying that he “trusts women” to draw the line.

“Well is that an example of good faith. Is that what you actually call that?” Ingraham said as the clip ended. “Good faith towards the unborn, innocent child?”

“I think we need a papal proclamation,” she then said, before declaring Buttigieg has perfected the art of “mild-mannered extremism.”
