Laura Ingraham Says Rex Tillerson Should’ve Left Long Ago: ‘If You Call Your Boss a Moron…’
Laura Ingraham tonight weighed in on the firing of Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, something she thought was long overdue.
The Fox News host began by telling their viewers that they “shouldn’t have been surprised” by Tillerson’s firing, especially since tensions between him and President Trump have been reported for a while. She said the outgoing secretary “didn’t look well” during his “emotional” presser.
Ingraham played a clip from an interview she had with Trump back in November. When asked if Tillerson was going to remain at the State Department, Trump responded by saying “we’ll see.”
She then blasted the media for painting this firing as “White House dysfunction” and dismissed the supposed “chaos” by pointing to the Obama administrations numerous scandals like Benghazi, the IRS targeting of conservatives, and Fast & Furious, which she pointed out that no one was fired as a result, as well as the rise of ISIS and increasing the debt.
“Look, the fact is that Tillerson should have tendered his resignation a long time ago,” Ingraham continued. “He disagreed with the president on major issues. He was opposed to the talks with the North Korea. He supported the Paris Climate Accords. He questioned the president’s charlesville response. He was at odds at moving the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem and was a fan of the Iran Nuclear Deal. The president, of course, was not a fan. Other than that, the two were in perfect sync!”
Then she invoked Tillerson’s non-denial from last October about reports that he referred to the president as a “moron.”
“If you call your boss a moron, you probably shouldn’t be in that position,” Ingraham reacted. “The only question I have is why did it take the president so long to fire Tillerson? Sure, he is a nice guy, but come on.”
She went on to give a ringing endorsement for CIA Director Mike Pompeo, who is Trump’s pick to replace Tillerson.
