Laura Ingraham: The Anonymous WH Official Trying To Thwart Trump’s Agenda ‘Could Be Traitorous’
On Wednesday night, Laura Ingraham weighed in on the anonymous op-ed published in The New York Times written by a senior official in the White House.
The author, who The New York Times revealed in a tweet was a male, said he is part of a resistance movement within the White House in order undermine President Donald Trump.
“That is why many Trump appointees have vowed to do what we can to preserve our democratic institutions while thwarting Mr. Trump’s more misguided impulses until he is out of office,” the anonymous staffer wrote.
House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) began by calling the author a “coward.”
“The idea that this person has a taxpayer’s job somewhere in the government, is supposed to be serving the president, who the taxpayers elected, but he or she is such an elitist that they know better than the voters, that they are protecting the voters in some way?” McCarthy told Ingraham. “I agree with the president. I think is a real problem and they should come forward and say who this person is.”
“He’s working and others are working to thwart the president’s agenda and he calls Trump antidemocratic? That’s antidemocratic” Ingraham exclaimed.
McCarthy agreed, adding that it “goes against the Constitution.”
“That’s why this person is a coward,” McCarthy reiterated.
“Could be traitorous,” Ingraham responded. “Kind of- maybe it’s a little bit of a stretch, but it could be.”
Ingraham and McCarthy then speculated who exactly was the author, whether they truly have such a “senior” position or is merely a “civil servant.”
