Like Trump, You’re ‘Criminalizing the Immigrant Population’: Jorge Ramos and Tucker Carlson Face Off

Tucker Carlson tonight squared off with Jorge Ramos over immigration and he asked the Univision anchor why it isn’t reasonable for people to have concerns when they see things “radically changing” in their country.

He confronted Ramos about comments he’s made about how this is “our country” and “not theirs,” asking him who he’s talking about there. Ramos said there are people in America who want to go back to a time “when there was a white majority” who need to understand it’s “not only their country.”

They discussed the differences between Latinos in many different nations as Carlson argued that someone like Ramos cannot speak for an entire population.

He also asked Ramos if he believes that Americans don’t have a right to be concerned about the “demographic change” happening in the United States. Ramos objected to the idea that there’s an “invasion” going on, but Carlson shot back that he’s basically saying people are “not allowed to have that opinion.”

Ramos argued that immigration is having a mostly positive impact on the country, and when Carlson brought up downsides like the number Mexican citizens in American prisons, Ramos shot back, “You, like Donald Trump, are also criminalizing the immigrant population.”

Carlson said he agrees that most people illegally immigrating into the United States are good people, but he again brought up the prison issue as a concerning one. Ramos disputed the stats he was sharing and Carlson responded, “You don’t have command of these numbers.”
