Lindsey Graham Hopes Trump Keeps John Kelly and McMaster Around

On Face the Nation today, Lindsey Graham said he still thinks President Trump should keep John Kelly around.

Graham opened with several messages to the President, including that he’s not crazy about the tariffs and that they can do more good work on guns.

Margaret Brennan brought up the personnel issue amid new scrutiny on John Kelly and more reports that H.R. McMaster might be on the way out.

Graham defended McMaster and said the following:

“I hope the president will keep him around. But it’s up to the president. He can fire anybody he likes but I have a lot of confidence in General McMaster and John Kelly to me has created order out of chaos initially––it’s kind of backsliding now. But I think John Kelly is the right guy to continue to help the president organize his agenda. Have a lot of faith and trust in John Kelly, hope he stays.”

Kelly recently made comments to reporters about his handling of the Rob Porter scandal that only invited further questions about the timeline.
