Looks Like Fox’s Dennis Kucinich Just Interviewed Syrian President Assad

According to several reports, current Fox News contributor and former Congressman Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) interviewed Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on Tuesday.

British ITV News originally reported the news, along with Sunday Times reporter Hala Jaber, who tweeted out:

When pressed for further confirmation, Jaber replied:

If indeed true, Fox’s interview would be Assad’s second American interview in recent weeks during ongoing tensions over his use of chemical weapons. Last Monday, CBS News’ Charlie Rose interviewed Assad:

As BuzzFeed notes, Kucinich would be a particularly interesting interviewer because “[He] was criticized for visiting with Assad at the beginning of the Syrian president’s crackdown on protesters in 2011, and praising him as ‘highly loved and appreciated by the Syrians.’ He later said he had been misquoted by Syrian state media.”

We’ve reached out to Fox for confirmation. We’ll update if we hear back.
