On Friday, long-time CNBC anchor Maria Bartiromo bid goodbye to the audience on CNBC that she has served since 1993. Bartiromo, who announced that she was moving to Fox Business Network on November 18, said she was not going far but would miss all of the people she came to love over the course of her 20 years on the network.
“It’s been hitting me all day,” Bartiromo said of her last day on the network. She revealed how the traders on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange greeted her warmly and applauded her on the morning of her final day anchoring the financial network’s coverage.
“The guys on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange really have been my family for so many years,” Bartiromo said. “I just love all of you.”
Bartiromo’s co-hosts featured a graphic to demonstrate how the Dow Jones Industrial Average has fared over the course of Bartiromo’s two decades at CNBC. The graphic showed definitively that the market has trended up, ostensibly as a result of Bartiromo’s tenure at CNBC.
“I am coming back, you know,” She assured her co-hosts. “I’m not going far.”
