NBA owner and businessman Mark Cuban was on CNBC earlier this week talking about politics, and had some pretty blunt advice for the Republican Party: stay away from social issues. Period.
Cuban considering himself a libertarian-leaning independents who has his issues with both parties. But when it comes to social issues, he thinks the GOP is way off-course.
“If I was going to give guidance to the Republican party,” Cuban said, “I’d say stay completely out of social issues and if you stay out of social issues, the conversation from that side will only be around economics and business and growing business and ideas.”
Cuban mentioned that in the past, he’s helped efforts to start third parties, but found it’s “almost impossible” to put a big dent in the Democrat-Republican stronghold.
