Marsha Blackburn Questions Comey: ‘He Has a Very Interesting Relationship With the Truth’

Republican Representative Marsha Blackburn (TN) questioned the truthfulness of FBI Director James Comey’s testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee.

Speaking with Chuck Todd on Meet The Press Daily on Friday, the Tennessee Republican said that she thought Comey was looking to settle some scores during his testimony.

“It seemed as if he wanted to throw lots of people under the bus,” Blackburn said. “It seemed as if he did get a little bit emotional. I think he has a very interesting relationship with the truth.”

An interesting relationship with the truth. Those words got Todd’s attention. He followed-up by asking if Blackburn believed Comey committed perjury.

“That’s not for me to say,” Blackburn said.

The Meet The Press Daily host challenged her. “You just said he has a problem with the truth,” Todd said.

“I said he has an interesting relationship with the truth,” Blackburn said.

“What does that mean?” Todd shot back. “Is he truthful or not?”

Blackburn dodged.

“It will be for others decide how truthful they think that his testimony was,” she said. “His comments about Loretta Lynch. His comments about the President. His comments about others that he works with.”
