On This Week With George Stephaonopoulos, ABC News contributor and former George W Bush political strategist Matthew Dowd denounced the rush to attend casino mogul and GOP donor Sheldon Adelson’s convention in Las Vegas this weekend as prioritizing money over message.
“I think it’s ridiculous that these candidates for president are trumping out to Las Vegas to kiss the ring of a billionaire casino owner, and they think that’s somehow going help them get elected president,” Dowd said.
“Money is going to help them,” Stephanopoulos objected.
“Money matters so much less than your own capacity as a candidate,” Down replied. “They’re much better off spending time back where they live instead of flying to Las Vegas, and figuring out the vision and the message and how to convey to the American public.”
