Maxine Waters on Avoiding Trump Inauguration: ‘I Don’t Honor Him, I Don’t Respect Him’

Congresswoman Maxine Waters, one of the dozens of Democrats boycotting Donald Trump‘s inauguration, said on MSNBC today she made that decision because she does not respect the president-elect nor does she want to honor him.

She spoke with Tamron Hall about Trump and Russia and expressed her concern that he is in bed with Putin.

Hall asked if her decision to skip the inauguration was based on the intel she’s heard or Trump’s recent comments about John Lewis.

Waters said she was never planning to go to the inauguration, explaining, “There’s nothing about him that I would want to be involved with… I don’t honor him, I don’t respect him, and I don’t want to be involved with him.”

Hall circled back to Russia and asked if Trump is “a danger.” Waters said, “I believe that Trump is a danger. I believe that he wants to tighten and build up his relationship to Russia, for whatever reason.”
