Maxine Waters: Trump Seems to Have ‘Tendency to Talk Down to People of Color’

Congresswoman Maxine Waters slammed President Trump over his feud with Frederica Wilson over the call he made to a Gold Star widow.

Waters told MSNBC’s Ari Melber that he has handled this poorly and should apologize, mentioning how he’s calling Wilson “wacky” and how the women of the Congressional Black Caucus put out a statement calling on John Kelly to apologize to her.

“We are sick and tired of women being undermined, being dismissed,” Waters said, “and black women in particular being called names.”

Melber asked her if she thinks Wilson was “treated differently because of her race and gender.”

Waters said this:

“I think that goes along with it. He seems to have this tendency to talk down to people of color, to treat them with disrespect. And I think this adds to it.”
