Senator John McCain said on MSNBC tonight that there needs to be a special committee for the Russia investigation because Congress doesn’t presently have the “credibility to handle this alone.”
McCain told Greta Van Susteren that the big split today between Devin Nunes and Adam Schiff shows a “chasm” between the two leaders of the House Intelligence Committee. He added there is no substantiation to either of them.
He said what’s been happening today is somewhat “bizarre” and it’s time for a special committee because “no longer does the Congress have credibility to handle this alone, and I don’t say that lightly.”
As for Trump’s reaction that he feels “somewhat” vindicated, McCain said he’s given up trying to interpret the things the president says.
