As John McCain and Lindsey Graham talked about the threat of ISIS on Face the Nation this morning, John Dickerson asked about Donald Trump‘s rhetoric on Muslims.
Trump has talked about surveilling and potentially closing down mosques in order to fight ISIS, and recently refused to rule out the idea of a Muslim database.
Dickerson asked, “Does that have any real effect outside of the United States in the fight against ISIS?”
McCain said it has the “effect of turning Muslims all over the world against the United States of America.”
He also noted that the vast majority of Muslims are peaceful and practicing an “honorable religion.”
