Senator Claire McCaskill, after defending Hillary Clinton on her emails during her Fox News Sunday interview, went after Donald Trump by giving him some of his own medicine.
She criticized Trump for saying that President Obama is the “founder of ISIS.” Trump said that was sarcastic, then he sort of walked that back.
Chris Wallace confronted McCaskill about whether Clinton does “bear some responsibility” for the rise of ISIS given the Iraq troop withdrawal and her push for Libyan intervention.
McCaskill pointed out the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) was agreed to under George W. Bush, and she snarked that Trump probably thinks the SOFA “is a couch.”
And then, as she brought up how Vladimir Putin has backed actions by Assad that led to the rise of ISIS, “you can say Trump and his friend Putin are the founder of ISIS, which would probably be more accurate than calling out that Commander-in-Chief in that way.”
