Mediaite’s Colby Hall Breaks Down Clinton’s Press Secretary Joe Lockhart Confronting Ken Starr

Mediaite founding editor Colby Hall appeared on Law & Crime Friday to analyze the heated debate between Clinton press secretary Joe Lockhart and Ken Starr, the special prosecutor who led the investigation into the 42nd president.

Hall, who called the multi-segment showdown on CNN’s New Day “fascinating,” focused on one exchange in which Lockhart vented about Starr’s flashy handling of the investigation.

Lockhart compared it to Special Counsel Robert Mueller‘s investigation, which he said has been carried out in a more quite and thus professional manner.

“It’s shocking to see Joe Lockhart confront his political adversary from 20 years ago and say in really harsh terms that Mueller’s a pro, he not sharing information, and yet Ken Starr was playing a political game that was… really unprofessional,” Hall said on Law & Crime. “And (watch) Ken Starr just had to sit there and sort of take it.”

Hall pointed out that Mueller’s special counsel investigation is operating under different guidelines than Starr, guidelines that were put in place following criticism of the sprawling Clinton investigation.
