Mediaite’s Joe Concha made a pretty bold statement during an appearance on CNN’s Outfront on Thursday night. Reacting to President Obama apologizing for the botched rollout of the Obamacare website, Concha told Erin Burnett that this fiasco marks “the end of the Obama presidency.”
Burnett wondered what would happen in the near political future if Obama ends up being proven right and people are satisfied with their health care. Even if that happens, Concha said, it’s unlikely to change much, because we’re “living in reality” and the White House has to face up to the fact that they won’t be able to escape this.
He continued, “This is the end of the Obama presidency, this is lame duck status.” Concha predicted that this issue will carry on for the rest of Obama’s presidency, which will damage his ability to get any more “big-ticket agenda items” passed in Congress, and may continue to have ripple effects all the way into Hillary Clinton 2016.
