Megyn Kelly Indirectly Responds to Trump: My Ratings Have Been Just Fine Without Him
Fox News’ Megyn Kelly last night did not directly address Donald Trump‘s latest attacks against her, but she indirectly did so in talking about the amount of media coverage he gets.
Kelly spoke with Jorge Ramos last night about the way the media covers Trump. Ramos believes that many of the interviews done with Trump have been “really embarrassing” and not confrontational enough on his racist and sexist remarks.
Ramos did not directly address Trump’s latest attacks on Kelly––nicknaming her “Crazy Megyn”––though by this point in the night Fox News already shot back with a pretty tough statement for Trump.
Kelly asked Ramos whether the pressure to not be tougher on Trump has to do with ratings or access. She indirectly responded to one of Trump’s attacks by saying the Trumpless Fox debate did fairly well in the ratings compared to the ones with him before and after. And then Kelly said this:
“Many shows get a pop if they put him on. I would submit to you I’m the second highest-rated show in all of cable news and I haven’t had Trump on in seven months. It can be done without him.”
According to Nielsen, Fox’s The Kelly File has been the #2 program since it launched in 2013, well before Donald Trump was a candidate. And yes, Trump hasn’t been a guest on the program since last August, and her show is still rated #2 overall, only behind The O’Reilly Factor.

UPDATE –– 11:17 am EST: Trump tweeted this minutes after this post went up:
Crazy @megynkelly says I don't (won't) go on her show and she still gets good ratings. But almost all of her shows are negative hits on me!

If crazy @megynkelly didn't cover me so much on her terrible show, her ratings would totally tank. She is so average in so many ways!
